Participants will receive an overview of the new ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System as well as a brief introduction of other ISO systems. These international standards are globally accepted as the most comprehensive framework to build a world class Quality Management System to drive your business growth and prosperity. The standard, developed by a global committee representing several countries, utilizes the continuous improvement philosophy, risk assessments, and Dr. Edward Deming’s Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle as foundational pillars.

Objectives of this event:

  • Learn about the significant changes from ISO 9001:2008 to 2015.
  • Assess whether ISO Certification can benefit your business.

In addition, learn about Fall 2017 leadership development programs offered through a collaboration with Dr. Vinciguerra and TDO. These unique programs couple education, multiple assessment tools, and in-depth one-on-one coaching. An anchor for many organizations' talent development programs, these courses have been shown to improve productivity, performance and employee engagement.

Putting Kata into Practice

 The Kata Simulation & 10-Hour Programs help you:

 

  • Understand how Toyota utilizes Kata to foster operational excellence.
  • Jumpstart your Kata practice
  • Learn essential Kata concepts and behaviors, in a proven, learn-by-doing format.

Kata Simulation

This 1-day program intertwines knowledge of the Kata process and principles with a realistic, hands-on simulation to illustrate the effectiveness and elegant simplicity of Kata. The simulation serves as an introduction and foundation for organizations and individuals new to Kata.

Kata 10-Hour Program


This program clearly demonstrates essential Kata concepts, scientific thinking, and the behavioral principles upon which Kata is built. The program provides expert guidance in establishing current and target conditions, identifying obstacles and PDCA-based experimentation. Much of the time in this learn-by-doing program is spent practicing the Coaching Kata while mentored by Certified Kata Trainers. Upon completion, participants are ready to start using Kata in their daily work.

ExportNY

ExportNY, a four month international business development program, is presented by Syracuse University and the Central New York Technology Development Organization (TDO) in collaboration with the CNYIBA.

ExportNY is designed for executives responsible for their company's international marketing, finance & operations. It helps participants determine which international markets are attractive, prioritize efforts, develop strategies to penetrate each market and tackle the legal, cultural, logistical and regulatory issues of doing business abroad.

The program takes a strategic approach to developing a global business plan and gives companies a jump start by providing classroom training, market research, tools and resources in a stimulating, interactive and supportive environment. ExportNY provides Syracuse University interns at no additional cost to help with research and implementation efforts under the guidance of the participant and program staff.

Participants spend two days per month in program sessions. Between sessions they work on developing and executing their plan. By the end of this fast paced program, businesses are on their way to expanding their markets.
